Carrying on through Kinlochewe we head towards Torridon and Sheildaig, but before we reach these villages we will stop at two viewpoints to see Beinn Eighe (pronounced "Ben Eye")...

... Loch Torridon, Bein Alligin and Liathach, these are the 3 highest mountains in the Torridon range.

We continue along by the shore of Loch Torridon until we reach Sheildaig, which looks out to Sheildaig Island in Loch Sheildaig.

From here we head towards Lochcarron, passing Loch Kishorn on the way. Lochcarron is a lovely little village on the shore of the loch and we pass through to Strathcarron and turn back on the other side of the loch to head towards Stromeferry.

Bypassing Stromeferry we carry on to Kyle of Lochalsh - the Gateway to the Isle of Skye. Before crossing the bridge to Kyleakin we stop at the Skye Bridge Viewpoint to take in the fantastic views of the Bridge and the Isle of Skye.

The Skye Bridge was opened in October 1995 and was shrouded in controversy due to the high toll charges. Following lots of protests, arrests and court cases, the tolls were eventually removed and it is now free to cross the bridge. We cross to Kyleakin where you can still see the slipway used for the ferry before the bridge was built.

Coming back over the bridge we head for the jewel in the crown of Highland castles, Eilean Donan Castle, one of the most popular visitor attractions in the Highlands. The castle was built in the 13th century and it was strategically placed where 3 sea lochs meet. In modern times many films have been shot here including the James Bond movie, The World Is Not Enough in 1999.

We then visit another 2 viewpoints at Loch Shiel and Ratagan with some stunning view of lochs and the Five Sisters of Kintail.

Leaving Kintail behind us we travel past Loch Cluanie through Glenmoriston to Invermoriston and to our final stop on this tour, another fantastic Highland castle, Urquhart Castle on the shore of Loch Ness. This 800 year old castle has a turbulent and bloody history, and sits on a rocky promontory over Loch Ness.
