TOUR NORTH OF SCOTLAND

from Inverness and Invergordon

Heading North from Inverness we take a scenic drive to our first stop of the day at The Dornoch Firth East viewpoint which gives a lovely view of the Dornoch Firth as it reaches the larger Moray Firth. Continuing a short distance we reach The Dornoch Firth West viewpoint which is also known as The Millionaires view and when you see this view you will understand why it is so called.

We carry on to The Falls of Shin and on our way we pass Carbisdale Castle which is also known as The Castle of Spite, we go down to the viewpoint at The Falls of Shin where we may be lucky to see some Atlantic Salmon leaping the falls.

Leaving the Falls of Shin we drive along to Dunrobin Castle which is the largest Castle in the North of Scotland and also the ancestral home of Clan Sutherland.  Whilst at Dunrobin we see the impressive Falconry Display.

Following Dunrobin Castle we drive to Loch Fleet National Nature reserve on both sides of Loch Fleet where we may see some seals and otters as well as many species of seabirds and waders.

It is a short drive from the south side of Loch Fleet to the lovely little town of Dornoch where we visit Dornoch Cathedral and we also stop for lunch. Dornoch is also home to Royal Dornoch Golf Course which is ranked as one of The Worlds best golf courses, golfers may want to visit the shop here.
